The Evanston Project

When we first met with this client, a better fit and much better function was the order of the day. The kitchen was a small space filled with overbearing, heavy, stained cabinetry in a layout that didn’t work for this growing family. Collaborating with Claire Staszak of Centered By Design, we created a much lighter and airy space with the utmost function by removing a wall and using our Starmark line of inset cabinets as well as using open shelves for a desk area, in the island and on the range wall. We were able to include a quaint island to allow for seating in the kitchen and used a different finish on the island cabinets, bringing added interest and drama to the space.
