Meet the Team

Randy Franz has been in the building trades since his early twenties, first as a framing contractor then as a trim carpenter for a custom home builder. In 1995, he launched his own remodeling business that he and his wife, Wendy, ran as a team. In 2012, Randy re branded the business to primarily focus on his love of custom woodworking and he opened his own workshop in Crystal Lake. Creating beautiful tables, bars, bar tops and more for local commercial clients, Randy’s work became well known and sought after. Now with the addition of the kitchen and bath division of their business, Randy also creates one of a kind pieces to compliment Wendy’s designs such as barn doors, banquettes, counter tops and more. Stay tuned for a line of custom wood hoods that Randy will be designing and creating to add to his growing list of creations.

Wendy has been a remodeling contractor since 1995. Having a passion for creating beautiful and functional kitchen spaces for their clients, Wendy pursued an education in Kitchen and Bath Design from Harper College in 2010. Working between their Crystal Lake and Chicago studios, Wendy enjoys getting to know her clients well, listening intently to their desires and visions and bringing them to reality with her own creative spin on the designs.

In her free time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys visiting new and unusual restaurants, trying different foods and beverages. She also has a passion for nature and will get outside to enjoy a walk as often as she possibly can, along with gardening and other outdoor activities.

Kylie developed a love for design at a very young age. Decorating and rearranging her childhood room was her favorite pastime. She uses her personal style of vintage modern to bring different textures, and accents to every room. Her true passion is decorating and helping clients choose out the details of the space. Kylie’s strengths include curating a great Instagram post, picking out bathroom tile, and finding the perfect vintage piece.

Kylie lives in Ravenswood, Chicago with her husband, and their dog, Zooey. When Ky isn’t at the Chicago studio she is watching movies, reading books about fashion, going to yoga, and spending time with her nephews and nieces.

Growing up, Chelsea’s parents instilled a love of all things design and architecture. Her Dad made sure that she knew how to appreciate a beautifully designed building or home. Her Mom showed her how to create beautiful spaces in a house to help it become a home. Chelsea brings her love of design & skill in administration to the Studio 912 team.

When Chelsea is not in the office, she’s pursuing her masters in mental health counseling. She loves spending her free time with her husband Matt, their son Wyatt, and Corgi Watson. The four of them love dancing in their living room and exploring their beautiful town.
